The development of Chinese characters has a long history, beginning with pottery inscriptions in the late Neolithic period, progressing to the oracle bone scripts and bronze inscriptions in the Shang and Zhou dynasties, and evolving through small seal scripts after the unification by Qin to clerical scripts during the Qin and Han periods. The Chinese characters used today carry the wisdom of our predecessors. In this workshop, parents and children will discover the stories behind Chinese characters through reading picture books and make collage artworks of Chinese characters, under the guidance of instructor.
