Rooted in Chinese classical literature and manifested through contemporary dance, this performance harmonises contemporary aesthetics with modern arts technology (such as imagery), guiding the audience through time and space. We will closely witness the ‘Dream of the Red Chamber － Jia Baoyu’, the ‘Time-traveling Butterfly Lovers’, and the ‘Heroic Woman Hua Mulan’, dancing on the delicate line between reality and illusion. In the flow of ‘time-space perspective’, we will collect these cultural fragments, reassemble, reimagine and reconnect them with the primordial yearning for beauty and truth, as advocated in The Peach Colony and The Book of Poetry: The Reeds.
The performance will run for about 1 hour 30 minutes including a 10-minute intermission.
