About the performers
Hong Kong Gaudeamus Dunhuang Ensemble
Founded by Hong Kong business and advertising veteran Ms Leonie Ki in 2018, the ensemble consists of two young composers, Kam Shing-hei and Chu Kai-yeung, and eight musicians including Loris Yue (Sheng), Felissa Chan (Pipa), Jenny Pang (Ruan), Momo Lau (Ruan), Jenny Chan (Guzheng and Konghou), Nicky Kwok (Dizi, Xiao and Xun), Alvin Chan (Percussion) and Sylvia Tam (Percussion). The ensemble attempts to recreate and enliven musical scenes from over a thousand years ago in the paintings within the Dunhuang grottoes in order to promote the Dunhuang music, art and culture.
