Celebrating the life of Pan Yulin—China’s first female Westernstyle painter—this musical integrates drama, music, dance, visual art, and multimedia. It traces her journey from studying under Hong Ye, attending Shanghai’s Academy of Fine Arts, receiving artistic training in France, returning home to teach, to leading the Chinese Art Association in France. This musical recounts her aesthetic achievements in blending East and West. The production is not only an affectionate tribute to a generation of legendary painters, but also striving to become a border-crossing stage masterpiece that integrates Eastern and Western aesthetics.
