Lingnan Harmony: Guangdong Music, Cantonese, and Nanyin (2024-2025 School Year)

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Chinese Culture Promotion Office, in collaboration with the Centre for Chinese Music Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and One Table Two Chairs Charitable Foundation, “Lingnan Harmony: Guangdong Music, Cantonese, and Nanyin” is about to unfold. The programme covering Lingnan culture, Cantonese music, and Nanyin rap performance, students can immerse in the rich and diverse Chinese culture environment.

Lingnan Harmony: Guangdong Music, Cantonese, and Nanyin (School Session)

In this programme, Professor Yuen Siu-fai and an ensemble of professional musicians will introduce the history and characteristics of Cantonese music through performing Chinese music. Students will have the opportunity to understand Nanyin and the charm of Lingnan culture!

Tables, chairs, audio equipment such as wireless microphones, microphone stands, speakers, projector(s) and screen(s), and music stands will be needed. It takes about 40 minutes to prepare before the activity and about 30 minutes to dismantle the materials afterwards.
